T-Rudder firmware update problem

Greetings. I just got a set of these pedals and cannot seem to get the firmware updated. When I boot up the device configurator, they show as VKBsim Black Box v1.936 in the window. I select them & launch the bootloader. That window opens stating Boot device: detected - Ok. Below it shows Found boot device : VKB Boot Njoy32 platform. I select the "_BlackBox_MK2_TRudder_v2_09_0.vkb" firmware file and click Flash it!
!!! Device signature not correct - flash fail !!!
Please check version of firmware file for this device
All lights on the (orange) black box have turned off. I close the bootloader and now the device configurator sees them as VKB Boot Njoy32 platform v00.56. If I click on them I get a msg. that the firmware I use is very old and needs to be updated, I then click the "ok" box attached and get a "error read CPUID" msg. Anytime I try to click on them in the device configurator I get same error read msg.
If I unplug & then refit the USB cable to the black box, they are then again recognized as VKBsim Black Box v1.936 & I can then select them again in the configurator.
I also have a Gladiator NXT that I was able to flash to v2.09 without a problem. I've tried both with and w/o the joystick connected to the pc and also tried to flash them to v2.07 as I still had the .zip with that firmware and get the same results. They seem to be functioning fine as is. Do I need to worry about this?
