Rotate Base/Grip 180 degrees?

This applies to my Gunfighter Mk.III Modern Combat Edition, and 2 (left/right) Space Combat Editions, all sitting on a Gunfighter Mk. III Base.

Is there a way to rotate the base 180 degrees? Normally the barrel plug is at the front of the joystick/base, but I'd like to have it at the back. I'm using a MonsterTech chair, and with the way the joystick/base has to be mounted, the USB cable (and barrel) plug is exposed and at risk of being accidentally being snagged/broken.

I've disassembled the base, but the mechanical design (specifically the top cover) won't allow it to be rotated 180 degrees. I've looked at the rotating the 200mm extension, and even the grip, to no avail. Am I missing something, or is this not possible?

Thanks!

That, unfortunately, won’t work.

Thanks, figured as much.

An idea for a future product would just be a different metal "top" of the base which would allow rotating the internal parts of the base 180 degrees. As I view the mechanics, that's all that needs to change.

Oh well, thanks again.

Many of us have also looked for a right angle connector, either the cable end or for the base, to no avail. I can find it in the next diameter up but have never found one in the size being used.

Having a right angle cable connection might help with routing it a little better in some instances, not as much a change as your idea to flip the connection location entirely though...

I think I'm going to try and 3D scan the top of the base, rotate the center cutout 180 degrees and then print a new top to see if that will work.
