same deadzone issue as so many others have had, this time with MSFS

Have read through two other posts completely, tried everything I could, but no luck for me with Gladiator NXT.
Have used VKBDevCfg-C software, flashed firmware, all axis look good on Tools/Default/test. Have done the press 3 buttons on stick and rotate all axis, that did nothing to help.
Have followed the steps 1-12 found on a different thread to no avail.
Jump into MSFS, and have terrible deadzone, and then when it does react, it goes nuts.
Can't copy and paste a screenshot, or I would do so. Unable to figure out what should be done on tools/default/external/global, other than click on the find button, which I did. Don't know what if anything should be done on the line of axis with drop-downs associated with them (virtual, normal. trimmer etc.)
If there is an analog/digital choice in MSFS somewhere, as is mentioned in thread below, I am unable to find it. Is there such a setting in MSFS?

Very frustrating to have a piece of equipment so highly regarded (on YouTube anyway) and have to put this much effort into getting it to work well. I'm sure I am missing something somewhere.
If someone can post a solution, it would be greatly appreciated. As stated, I have followed all calibration steps I can find, and under "test" all axis are working.
