Hi,
I have a GF MK III Pro twist on Firmware 2.0.9. When playing DCS but also in the Joystick Tester and in Device Config Tool I can see the brake pedal axis spike for a split second when moving my stick. It's annoying to see the brake lever and the cable mechanics moving in a Mig 19 all the time. It doenst spike with every Joystick movement but with many. I followed serveral guides here mostly with different way to calibrate but it looks like a mechanical problem or rubbed off stuff (allthough not used very much - maybe because of the long extension). What can I do? Should I open the stick? Should I apply more spirings after that? Right now I just have on spring per side while using the longest extension from VKB.
Another thing which is maybe a joystick issue and maybe a DCS bug: Several times in a flight some buttons dont work anymore and then they start working again. Very often it's the 4 way hat right of the trigger, sometimes the...uhhh. weapon selector switch for the thumb and others like the grip button used as a pinkie switch. After some time they work again. I already took the grip from the extension and cleaned the contacts. One detent was more like a very litte scratch. Any ideas?
And while Im at it two oberserations from the beginning I never cared to mention:
- the twist has some kind of friction/"crackly" feeling while twisting in one direction while the other direction doenst give this sensation. Since today I havent used the twist but if I would use it one day it would strange. Is it intended like this?
- the physical maximum of the stick is more than the maximum X/Y bandwith. It's easy to see in game and joytester because of the extension. Shouldnt be a problem but is this intended?

Could you please post a screenshot with VKBDevCfg showing the Profile/Axes/Logical and Physical Axes charts?

Your issues are coming from calibration, you have to calibrate the joystick before use. Please follow exactly this guide, from timestamp.
Re: Brake Pedals spiking when moving X/Y and button problem
just came back from DCS and recognized my stick was waaay too sensitive. Guess it's because I made something wrong calibrating yesterday.
Now I tried with the video. Flashing part is over anyway but now things become strange. Followed the guide and even switched to master mode axis mode for the guide.
The result was worse than ever and the DevCfg did freeze. Now I cant even start it anymore with freezing and killing the process. Gonna restart now and see....

cfg tool works again after restart.
Here are my values. Still have spiking of brake lever axis. See pink curves while moving X/Y

Uncheck all axes from the tester, except of Slider2 and post 2 screenshots please: first to show any unprovoked spikes (hand doesn't touches the grip) and second to show a slow, then a fast squeeze of the hand brake lever.

Re: Brake Pedals spiking when moving X/Y and button problem
I don't see any spikes in your screenshots, did the calibration resolved the issue?
You might also want to try reseating the grip on the base for proper contact: release the fastener so the grip moves around, then press on the grip gently while tightening the fastener back. Tighten it really good. Try again to replicate the spikes.

Re: Brake Pedals spiking when moving X/Y and button problem
Yep! It’s because the spiking is caused by moving X/Y which you do all the time flying. For the screenshots I didn’t move the stick because you said so
I can test rest you said tomorrow but I disconnected grip already from extension and connected it back quite tightly.

Re: Brake Pedals spiking when moving X/Y and button problem
Fair enough
Let's have another test then, with only brake axis activated, this time moving the grip only along pitch and roll. No rush, whenever you have time.

Re: Brake Pedals spiking when moving X/Y and button problem
I highly appreciate your help
After work I ll post Slider 2 Axis only but using only X/Y movements and no Slide 2 movements (brake). You ll see pink spikes from the brake like in my overloaded frist joy tester pic. The spikes are only generated by X/Y as I didnt touch the brake. The spikes are so narrow I guess it wouldn't be possible to achieve by deliberate slider movement even when you are bruce lee

Here we go
Just slider 2 / brake activeted but no movement. Just X/Y movements

Re: Brake Pedals spiking when moving X/Y and button problem
What to do? Seems like the problem was already there but since I now went from flying DCS Warbirds to DCS red cold war planes Mig19 and Mig21 I always see my brake lever flickering around - all the time. Losing pressure is one thing but the erratic movements are really annoying.
Also, Buttons still stop working suddenly and start to work again after 1-2minutes. Missed a lot of shot possibilities as I wasnt able to switch weapon, temporarily cage sight etc.

Pictures with the 3 pins on the bottom of the grip and the 3 pads on the top of the base stem, please, focused and in good light.
