Hello Guys.
I'm having an issue with the hat switch that I have installed on my Kosmosima on the A1 position. Basically 2 directions (right and bottom) out of the 5 are not working properly. Every now and then I'm able to trigger right but bottom does not work at all when I move the hat in that direction. Is there anything specifically I should check or it is safe to assume the switch is just defective. I have to admit I don't remember if the functionality of this hat degraded over time because after I installed it swapping out the analog axis I didn't really use as I've been using the SEM for some of the features I decided to move to the stick.
Thanks for any hint.

When checking in the software, In the buttons tab, I move the hat and no light comes up in the list of the buttons. I don't have any major config impacting those buttons. I would expect bthem to work all the same but for those 2 directions there's no red light coming up

Firmware is over 1 year old and software is the most recent, so they don't match. Please flash to the latest following this guide.

Updated and still the button 17 and 18 are not being pressed. I do not think it is a software issue, more an hardware one.
anything else I can try?

In the Profile-Buttons tab, activate the Poll checkbox and move the HAT to make sure that the buttons are physically activated in all positions.

Hello Ron, that's what I'm trying to say...
I've been doing this and left, top and 'press' result in a key pressed while right and down do not leave any trace. It seems like they do not give any signal

In this case, it remains only to check the buttons for a short circuit on the removed module with a tester. This will make sure that the module is clearly inoperable, and not something else.

I do have a tester and I should be able to disassemble the stick again. What and how should I do to check this?

The module was clamped in a vice (for the convenience of moving the rod) and measured the resistance between the points. Two extreme pins together and single:
nothing pressed - 2k5,
in pitch -1k7
roll - 1k4.

Re: Hat Switch A1 not working properly on Gunfighter MK3 with Kosmosima Grip
I do have another hat switch coming from the parts I have from a Gladiator NXT. Can I use these parts on the Gunfighter? My understanding is that the Grip is the same so I should be able to use it. Correct?
I'm not sure I understand those numbers though. Care to explain the meaning of 2k5, 1k7 and 1k4?
Thanks

It's simple - it's kiloohms. Don't bother with it, just select the 20k range on your multimeter when measuring and you should see numbers like this.
The handles are the same and the modules too.

To have the hat in a workable state while I find this out, is that ok if a use the hat switch from the gladiator spare parts to use it on the gunfighter?
