Try removing the device from the system with the USBDeview program and reset it as described here in paragraph 1.3.

I've tried the hardware reboot thing as described, and verified that all the connections between the wires are functioning, but there's still no effect. Is there anything else I could try?

Guys I'm so sorry I feel really stupid. I opened up the grip to see if there was any problems in there, and after giving a little tug on the connection wire thing, the yellow one came loose. I'm not really too sure how that happened but oh well. Thanks a lot for the help anyways.
