Gunfighter setting up mouse issues, and more.

Im following the official video tutorial on setting up mouse movement on the ustick, and having some problems. (brand new gunfighter)
All settings are default, so the stick is fresh as if out of the box. I put mouse on "relative" and active as "always on", as per the video.
On POVs screen I set Output to mouse, as per video. Then I press set, and happy days it works.
But if I change anything on that POVs screen, even if I change a value, set, then change back to what it was, then set, the mouse function stops working altogether and wont work again unless I restore defaults and start over.
My goal is to to increase the mouse speed. The mouse moves very slow, so if I change the "x" or "y" setting from anything but the default 3 and 4, mouse stops working (Im assuming these are mouse speed). Also, the x and y values just keep returning to their original value after the stick is set, as if I hadnt changed anything (about half the time).

Also, when the mouse stick is working, when I press it, the mouse (sometimes) first starts moving in the opposite direction to what it should, then quickly corrects itself. I havent changed any settings from default apart from the exact ones above, and I dont have any software running on my computer that is mouse related.

One final question, I see other tutorials that involve remapping buttons in the profile, but mine are greyed out from line 5 ("reg5") downwards. I see videos and screenshots where this is not the case. How do I activate these, or am I misunderstanding? Is there some kind of tour where I can learn about how this joystick works, what all the extra stuff in the box (springs, cams) is for, and generally how to use it? They are labelled with letters/numbers, what does this even mean? There was no information in the box, except for a link to the youtube channel.

Any help appreciated.

If the mouse stops working it means you're changing the wrong stuff. For example, the 3 and 4 you're mentioning about are not speed values, but the number of axes assigned as mouse, so of course if you change that mouse won't work.
The adjustments on mouse speed have been disabled from this firmware version; it will get implemented again in a future release.

That is because you haven't calibrated the joystick, or at least the ministick. See the guide here (from timestamp).

There are videos covering most of your requests, like this one. The softest springs are #10, the hardest #50. There are 4 sets of cams: Soft and Hard Space for space sims and soft and Hard Avia for flight sims (these have a more aggressive angle at the end of the cam to replicate air resistance).
The native software is extremely potent so it would be a pretty steep curve to get into it, but once you get its rhythm it will become more forgiving. There are guides on the YT channel on it and also the manual.
