A problem with the SEC flaps axis

Hey there,

I've just setup my new VKB SEC and THQ and I've run into a small issue with setting it up. I've followed all the instructions exactly (and repeated it to double check).

My setup is VKB NXT Premium Right connected directly to an SEM unit, which in turn is connected to a THQ unit. Jumpers are set correctly as per horizontal SEC unit with lights on, and I've fkashed and installed the latest firmware (v2_09_0-XT).

I've attempted to set up the flaps / and / or the gear as a free axis as opposed to a multi position switch. To do this I set the unit into setup mode, and followed the instructions as per the video. Then I perform the Find and Auto Config, but no luck at all. I can see the axis (rot Z in the below screenshot) but it doesn't respond at all. I can also confirm that it works if I set it up as a multi place switch - so the hardware seems to be fine!

Is this perhaps a case of me not being able to set this as an axis as I have too many in place already? Happy to see it as a multi position switch if thats the case. Thanks :)

If you'll use any of the Flaps or Landing Gear as analog axes, then you need some extra programming. Please check the video guide from timestamp. Let me know if you need further assistance.

Apologies, it took me a while to get around to this. I tried it as per the video, but with no luck. I've followed the instructions to the letter multiple times resetting between, but it won't detect the axis. Please could you help?

Let's do this:
1.png

1. Press Default button under Tools tab (1);
2. Press Find&Autoconfig button under Global/External/ExternalDevices (2);

3. Make sure the SEM device is selected (1), then click the Wizard icon (2);
4. Check both the Flaps (3) and Landing Gear (4) boxes and close the window (5);
5. Press Set button (6);
6. Navigate to Test/Axes1 and press the Start Calibr button;
7. Move ALL axes on your unit: Gladiator's, THQ's and SEM's;
8. Press End Calib at the end.
