So I received a brand new gunfighter joystick bought from the AU store...spent 3 hours so far trying to get it to work. The orange light on the breakout box is flashing, so that seems to mean the joystick is not communicating properly/not seated properly. Ive been through the list of things to do (check seated well, restart everything, etc).
(Setup info in the box just points to a generic youtube channel, with no setup guide at all, as far as I can tell. Who knows if Ive set it up properly? Who can tell? )
What next? Any help appreciated.

Re: brand new gunfighter...orange flashing light
Most probably the grip is not seated properly on the base. You don't mention what grip you got, but if it's a SCG/Kosmosima you'll have to press on it a bit harder so the pin on the base stem would get inside the hole on the bottom of the grip.
From that generic YT channel: installing a grip on a base 1 and installing a grip on a base 2.

Thanks. I dont know what the base it... whatever it comes with by default.
I ordered this: https://vkb-sim.com.au/products/gunfigh ... eft-handed
Yes, I read it needed to be pushed on firmly, but surely within reason. I pushed hard, and the locating pin is in the correct position, and has been since the start. Still no change, unfortunately.
Edit: just to clarify, the x and y axis work and are detectable with the Joytest tool, but twist axis and no buttons work. I've also tried resetting the device after each attempt. Would the light turn green if I attach the joystick with it powered up? Should I be able to get it into a good position and see the flashing orange light go out before tightening, so I know it is capable of working properly?

Re: brand new gunfighter...orange flashing light
Press a bit harder, the gap between grip bottom and base should be really small. If not sure, post a picture taken from the side so we could see the distance.
Re: brand new gunfighter...orange flashing light
Solved. I had to press AMAZINGLY hard to get it into position, and the light immediately switched green.
Thanks.
Thanks.
