Tools tab > default button. Find&autoconfig. NXT XT v2.088 disappears from top box for about 5-10 seconds then reappears. And a bunch of "NXT Joker" tabs appear below. I start calibration and go to test tab on bottom. Go to Axes1 tab. Moving axes does not move silders.

Both screenshots you posted are taken after pressing the Default button. Now press the Find&AutoConfig button.

Seems like there's still an issue, the software doesn't run smooth at all. I suggest using another computer to finalize the setup.

Tried with my Dell XPS 9370. Same thing.

What options are left?

Are you sure all the 4 pins on the main board are getting correctly into the socket on the GNX HID controller? What is the the position of the pins, did you altered it?
After checking these, try to restart your computer in safe mode and try again. Also, attached is an older firmware file, try it.

The older firmware file worked immediately! Unit was recognized as the correct device with the THQ name and all axes and buttons recognized in calibration. Thank you so much!

This is very strange. There is no other report about any module not working with the latest firmware.
But anyway, sorry it took so long until you could play with it, but glad it finally works; have fun!

Yeah no idea. I got the GNX maybe a week ago. As soon as I tried the older firmware it immediately worked and the axes were recognized. It also immediately recognized it as a GNX and not with the prior name it had saw it as. I was using the same data file firmware I had been loading the entire time too.

I have the same issue, I have the THQ module and it is not showing up in VKB Device config. I pluged it in into the VKB NXT GLadiator.... it is really frustrating at this point, there is no manual or guide included in the module.

What software and firmware versions are you on? If not sure, post a screenshot.
