200mm extension slightly skewed?

Hi All,

I have a VKB gunfighter 3 with a MCG (very happy with it). Recently got an extension but it seems slightly skewed counter clockwise.

Now Im aware theres some play in the holes in the bases that allow it to move back and forth a bit, but this is with me pushing it as far clockwise as it can go. Anyone else seen similar? Its not much off, but its put the pinkie button and the brake just slightly into a painful position.

Both the extensions and grips have a larger hole on the bottom to accommodate an offset angle mounting. So, if the grip is installed sideways you'll want it straight, but if you use the grip in middle position (between your legs) then you want to have it installed a bit sideways for better handling.
As both the extension and grip have larger holes, I suggest to first install the extension straight on the base and tighten it up, then the grip on the extension at the angle you want, then tighten that up too.

No, I get that its possible to change the angle... But let me show you what I was trying to get at, this photo is both with and without the extension at the extreme clockwise and counter-clockwise that the grip can move in the groves (first two photos without extension, second two with):

Hopefully its obvious, but you can see with the extension its definitely more skewed to the left (you can probably see that "right", without the extension I can move further right).

Second thing is this:

twisted.jpg

Not sure if you can see, but the base is definitely at an angle compared to the shaft (i'd say about its twisted about 10 degrees counter clockwise?)

Lastly theres also this:

basebent.jpg

The base doesnt appear to be flush or has been bent to one side compared to the shaft.

Now, im aware that having the stick between my legs, i do want it twisted a bit counter clock wise compared to if it was on the side, but I feel like mine may have been damaged in transit or in the factory and I was hoping someone might show me theirs to see if what im seeing was deliberate design choices.

The most important part thought is just dont seem to be able to find a position that feels right, which is why i started looking in the first place.

Your pictures show exactly how it is supposed to be. Mine is the same way. Put one of the connections "straight" and adjust the angle with the other as you like. If you twist both, then naturally the angle will be greater as you're now using two sets of adjustment slots adding their degrees of rotation together. I have my extension to base connection straight and adjusted the extension to grip connection angle as I like.

The idea is to set up a comfortable gripping position for a right handed person. Twisting to either extreme probably isn't going to be that for just about anyone, which is why the adjustment slots and connection points are designed the way they are. The stick is hyper customizable in many ways to make it your own.

Your last pic where the extension appears bent. It's likely just how it got tightened together. It's not critical. If you like, loosen the two bolts on the shaft, adjust it straight then re-tighten them.

No, i get how holes work... its just a really uncomfortable position for me... having the whole stick leaning to the left, i cant understand why anyone would want that really.

On the plus side I do have the tools to make my own extension now that i have the ends for it, would be awesome if they just sold the extension end parts in truth.
