FSM-GA no polling

Postby tiberius » Sat Nov 13, 2021 19:09

I was trying to change some settings (LED and T_Enc), and sometimes after I Set the new settings into it, the FSM-GA would become unresponsive; button LEDs not lit up, push buttons not responding, and the device name would become missing "FSM.GA" part (originally it shows "VKBSim NXT SEM THQ FSM.GA XT v2.081", after setting becomes "VKBSim NXT SEM THQ XT v2.081").

On External -> External Devices there is still a tab showing "#3 FSM.GA 2:17.36", pushing Stat in that tab would show "no polling", pushing Find & Show would show "#3. FSM.GA - Adr 2:17.32 Sub:1".

Restart and disconnect/reconnect won't get FSM-GA work again. Fortunately Default -> Find & Auto Config would make it work, but I have to re-apply all my axis, led settings and recalibrate. Is there a better way to make FSM-GA work again under such situation?

Thanks.

Seems obvious that some of the settings you're pushing are messing it up. I suggest to go 1 change at a time, Set it into profile and move on if it works. Save profile often so you could use it as a save point in case you have to reset to default again.
Restart and disconnect won't revive a soft bricked device because you changed the profile with bad code and the unit will keep trying to load that code until you reset to factory default so it could boot up.
Also, not sure you mentioned calibration it there - there are no axes on the FSM-GA, hence no calibration necessary.

Thanks for your prompt reply! I'll use profile function from here on, didn't think of it before ...

The calibration is for SEM and THQ, I connected SEM+THQ+FSM-GA and are using flaps and gears on SEM as analog axis.
