Physical setup is the THQ on the left of the Gladiator NXT and joined electrically by the four to three pin jumper. I just put this together out of the boxes. Next steps were as follows:

I hooked the four pin end of the jumper to the THQ four-pin port that was closest to the three-pin port on the Gladiator's thin PCB.

I upgraded the firmware to v2.071 using the flash util.

In VKB Device Config v0.92.11, I went to Tools (top) tab and hit Default. Gladiator rebooted.

Went to the Global bottom tab, clicked the external middle tab and hit Find @ Autoconfig Button. Nothing seemed to happen.

I went to bottom tab Profile, clicked Axes, and for the Logical Axes En and Vis are all checked (along with Cn). In and R are not checked for any of the 1-8. For Physical Axes, 7 and 8 do not have ACl checked.

Went to top Action tab and hit Set.

Put the bottom tab on Test, middle tab on Axes1, top tab on Tools and hit start calibrate.

Moved all the axes but moving the THQ levers did nothing for any of the axes.

Hit end calibrate and the device rebooted. When it cam back, I could still not have movement of the THQ levers appear on the Test/Axes 1 screen.

It seems like it can not find the THQ. If I go to bottom tab global, hit external and then look at the external devices side tab, the only unit it lists is the#1 SCG2:17.11. Nothing under #2. Do I need to mess with the USART things to tell it to turn on UART and start talking with the THQ over the four to three wire?

3 pin JST connector to 3 pin JST socket on the GNX, 4 pin JST connector to 4 pin JST socket on the module. Plug it in, press Default under the Tools tab, then go to Global/External/External Devices and click on the Find&Autoconfig button (make sure your device is selected in the blue device list window).
Then Test/Axes - hit Start Calibr, calibrate your 6 axes on the joystick, then 2 more (see which ones are moving on the screen) from the THQ; for the third axis on the THQ pull the roll down menu above the sliders and select the second controller. When done press End Calibr.

I had this too...go to external devices tab in configurator and find the thq tab (all.modules have their own tab even if you don't own all of them). Check what number shows in the box marked "sub", mine defaulted to 2. Changed this to 1 as I only have 1 thq, wrote setup and rebooted. When the device was loaded, it now showed gnx L thq instead of just gnx L in the device list and the axis showed up in the test tab. Calibration required me to click the acl boxes for axis 6-8 then all.worked properly. Good luck.

There is no 3 pin to 3 pin JST cable in the kit, but I can get one. It will take a long one as the THQ's 3pin JST connector is on the PCB between the left and center lever encoders. This is the 3 pin connector that is intended on the THQ side, yes?

There are three 4 pin JST connectors on the THQ and there are three 4 pin JST connectors on the GNX side. Which of these three on the THQ is to be connected to which of the other three on the GNX?

I might need to get longer cables that the 4 pin to 4 pin supplied but that is pretty easy if I'm out getting a long 3 pin to 3 pin for the above.

Hi @Capecop1, do you recall how many JST cables you used and which JST connectors on the PCBs they were connected between?

No no, read again please what I've said. 3 pins end gets into the Gladiator NXT, 4 pins end into the module.

You have internal cables of 2 types in your baggies:
- 3 to 4 pins JST cables: these are for connections between the Gladiator NXT and modules; the GNX will always take the 3 pins plug end, the modules will take the 4.
- 4 to 4 pins JST cables: these are for interconnecting the modules.

Alright, here's what worked.

Three pin end of the 3-4 cable into the NXT Gladiator, four pin end goes into the X10 port on the THQ. Do not plug into the X4 port as nothing good happens.

Next, plug in USB and then go to defaults.

Then Global bottom tab, External middle tab and hit Auto Find.

Then click the the fourth external device over, #4 [3] THQ 2:17.25, which has a "Sub" set to 2. Change that to 1 and then in the top Action tab click Set to save the settings.

Windows will rediscover the HID device because it has changed config.

Now do the profile for all axes on the Gladiator and THQ and complete the calibration.

Please check again my first post in this thread and follow exactly. Doing extra steps like changing subs or using other cables might work only for the moment.

Hey sorry I'm just getting back here, long day. You got it rangling, 3pin side of the cable that is 3pin to 4pin into the gnx, 4pin side into the modules 4pin connector. I'm glad you got it working. I'm not sure why I had to change the sub value to get the thq to be recognized but I tried everything with that value set to its defualt of 2 and nothing worked. The config software didn't see the thq nor did windows after following Fallouts instructions he kindly posted for me. I changed that value based on the video guide posted a few days ago that stated this value needed to be adjusted if you had more than one of the same modules but to leave it alone (at 1) if you only had one thq for example. Should this value not default to 1 instead of 2 (all.the other modules that are shown in their own tabs in the external devices page have a default sub value of 1).

So I followed this and I think it's working.

Except my THQ is only seeing 2 levers. How do I make it register the third lever?

If your THQ is connected to a Gladiator NXT then the 3rd axis should be on the second virtual controller. Check this video for details.
