Have I caused damage?

Postby conure86 » Wed Nov 03, 2021 12:00

Hey there,

Yesterday I received a VKB NXT and assembled it as per the instructions. when I placed the grip into the base it wasn't flush, so I pulled it out to reseat it. When I pulled it out, prior to it coming out (I didn't use much force, I'm gentle with eletronics!) I noticed the stick physically raised before it came out of the base. I have a photo of the part which raised here:

(The screw to lock the twist axis was not in at the time)

It came up by a few mm, as if on a spring, then returned to its initial position once I'd stopped pulling the stick from the base.

My question is, is this a defect, or perhaps even worse could I have caused damage to the stick? Everything is working fine, but I'm a little concerned I may have damaged the internals!

Most probably you twisted the grip and when twisted it's raising 1-2mm. Don't worry about it, it's a tough machinery.

Thanks for the reply - itwasn't due to a twist as it was a straight pull, but given its supposed to raise a few mm, plus it seems fine, I won't be concerned. Thanks for confirming :)

It's lifting even if you're twisting it if you pull up and it's normal, it's the twist spring holding it down. You're fine, promise :)
