Please verify my T-rudder setup with GFmk3 was correct

Postby VulcanXIV » Tue Nov 02, 2021 4:43

Good evening VKB,

I am glad to be back here. I have just added the T-rudder Mk.4 to my arsenal alongside my SCG Gunfighter mk3. Now, as much as I love your products, your software gives me Gordon Ramsey moments, but I have managed to work something out and I would be very grateful if you would verify and confirm what I have done.

Through troubleshooting the various manuals and instructions, I have discovered that the Configurator will not detect my T-rudder if it is connected through my Gunfighter's blackbox. I must connect the rudders to their own blackbox. I have done this and downloaded the latest firmware for both my SCG-R & Gunfighter Mk.3, as well as for my T-rudder Mk.4. I believe it is version 2.071.

I did not do the calibration through the configurator after this, but I can always do that later. If you tell me this is an important step, I will be sure to go back and do that soon. For now I actually cannot do that, because after updating the firmware on both devices I have now reconnected the rudder to the Gunfighter blackbox so that I can limit my use to only one blackbox. Is this ok? Did I do all the important things necessary for my new device and now I can enjoy both devices in one blackbox? I understand I'll need T-Link to use things like the electronic Toe-brake, and that means using two blackboxes so that T-Link can detect the rudder, but I don't wish to use that feature and would rather use only one blackbox.

At this point, I would like to know if I missed any important steps that would disturb the normal operation of my T-rudder by using it through one blackbox together with my Gunfighter. The only thing I can think of is the calibration of T-rudder through the Configurator, which I can only do if I connect the rudder through it's own blackbox. Please let me know how important that step is and if I should go back and complete it, as well as any other crucial processes I have missed.

However, If I did not miss anything crucial to the normal operation of my devices through one blackbox, then I will leave it alone as it currently is.

Thank you for your time and assistance!

Just plug the rudders into the GF's Black Box, press the Default button, calibrate all the axes including the rudders in the process and that's all about it. And yes, calibration is an extremely important step.

Currently I have both devices connected to the GF's Black Box. I opened the Configurator program and pressed the red Default button, but only the Gunfighter is showing up on the top window. Please see the first attachment to see what I am seeing.

Do you by some chance mean I should just Calibrate both of my devices through that single device? I do notice that one of the axis's will move if I use the rudder, as shown on the second attachment.

Based on what you see on the second attachment, will this method of Calibration be sufficient?

*EDIT*
I found your Calibration video tutorial again. I seem to be doing the correct process you have mentioned. Thank you for your assistance as always!
