I currently own two Gladiator NXT sticks, one left and one right. I originally planned to not use a throttle, but my friends have drug me into DCS so I am looking at my options. I see that the NXT grip is externally identical to the SCG Space Combat Grip ‘KOSMOSIMA’, except maybe how it mounts to the base. I was wondering if it was possible to attach the NXT grip to a Gunfighter III base. I want to be able to use an extended grip (50mm or 100mm) and I know it is discouraged to use an extension on the NXT base because the housing is not up to the increased force an extension would give. Are there any options for me to use what I already have to fly a center-mounted configuration or am I just going to have to invest in a Gunfighter III?

The grip is exactly the same, but the connector (tail) is different. So basically to make the upgrade you'd need a GF base, a Black Box and a SCG-to-GF connector.
Another option would be to simply sell your NXT and get a full GF system.

I would like to keep my NXT base so I can still use HOSAS when playing space sims like Star citizen. So I would need to buy these three things if I wanted to use my existing grip in a center-mounted configuration, not including the mounts.

Yup, that would get you there. To swap the grip from one base to the other you'll have to get through this every time though (watch only the first minute, which shows removing the tail/connector).
