Virtual Brake Axis Help
I am very new to VKB products and especially the config software.
I own the Gladiator NXT and VKB Rudder pedals. VKB talks about the virtual brake axis but in all my searches here and own google Im not really understanding the setup or maybe its the requirements.
From my searches all I find is that the virtual brake axis seems to only work on other vkb sticks and the rudder pedals, is this true? If not how to I setup the virtual brake with the NXT?
I tried using the T-link but nothing seems to work, I saw a vague post on another site that indicated it may work in the vkbconfig software but in general, the software is very confusing to me.

Re: Virtual Brake Axis Help
Calibrate both your GNX and rudders. Download and run the T-Link software.
Click on the Start/Stop button so the message 'Status: Sending Data' shows up. Click mouse on the arrow up button (under the Brakes) and then click on the joystick button you want to use as a switch for rudders/brakes.
Click on the Aux button and in the side window you could test your device.

Re: Virtual Brake Axis Help
I'll give that a try, dont think Ive tried it that way.
I got my my left and right premium GNX almost 2 months ago and they have been calibrated, got the rudder a week or so ago and also calibrated.
Do they both need to be recalibrated again?
Thank you.

Re: Virtual Brake Axis Help
Try downloading it again. If still doesn't work kill some background running software like Aorus, Razer, Logitech, Corsair etc.

Re: Virtual Brake Axis Help
Ok re-downloaded, no changes.
Tried killing 1 app at a time a run T-Link, same issue.
Cant figure out whats causing the error. Until I fix this error dont think I can get the virtual brake to work.

I also updated the firmware on the GNX and rudder then tried again, no go.
Also I tried accessing the test page on windows....control panel-devices and printers-vkbsim gladiator NXT R-right click-installed game controllers
selected vkbsim gladiator NXT R-properties
and I get this
Internal Error
Necessary files not found
Not sure if this has anything to do with it or not but thouight i'd add the info

Re: Virtual Brake Axis Help
It's not coming from neither the joystick or the rudders. The program simply can't run because something is blocking it. Unfortunately until you'll find what exactly it denies access you won't be able to establish a connection between the two.

Re: Virtual Brake Axis Help
Ok.
Got any tips to locate the culprit?
Thank you for the help.
EDIT:
Once everything is setup in T-Link, do I have to have T-Link running for the games?
If not guess I can try it on another PC.

Re: Virtual Brake Axis Help
As I suggested above, you could try turning off that kind of software that controls USB ports, LEDs, keyboards, other joysticks etc.

Re: Virtual Brake Axis Help
Yes, I just got it all to work on my laptop with Windows 10 Pro.
Havent tested in game, is T-Link required to be running for virtual brakes to work in game? That way I know if it should or not. If its not needed then this is a work around for now.
I also made sure the T-Link exe wasnt in read only mode, tried in safe mode, added it to the windows DEP exception list and did a memory diagnostics that checked good.I also when down the list of task manager disabling anything that wasnt essential for windows to run.
None of that made any difference.

Re: Virtual Brake Axis Help
Unfortunately you'll have to figure out the issue with the gaming computer because the T-Link software has to be running in the background in order to establish a relationship between the GNX and the rudders.

Re: Virtual Brake Axis Help
Ok everyone I finally figured out why T-Link was giving me the problems and another issue elsewhere not mentioned here. For me it seemed weird.
My game is say on F drive and T-Link is on my C drive. I had my D drive fail recently and needed to replace. Apparently it had been failing for months before it died.
Now the failed drive had nothing installed on it to do with my games, controllers or any relation what so ever.
Replaced with new drive and within a couple days I noticed that an issue I had before with a program that also had nothing to do with failed drive was now gone and working correctly. Made me wonder about T-Link.
Well that also fixed my issues with T-Link and works perfect.
I only learned this yesterday and I like to update on posts I make were I have issues that have been resolved.
