VKBDevCfg-C conflict with Monitor USB IO

Postby Djof » Thu Aug 26, 2021 3:39

Hello,

I have been enjoying my new VKB stick for the last couple weeks but this week I also installed a new monitor, Gigabyte FI32U. Instead of configuring the monitor through an overlay, a Windows application is used which communicates with the screen over USB. When the monitor USB is connected, VKBDevCfg-C becomes non-responsive, but doesn't completely freeze or crash. Every 15-20 seconds it seems to refresh, then immediately becomes non-responsive again. The VKBDevCfg-C window can't be moved so this is happening on the UI thread.

If I unplug the monitor, everything is back to normal right away, without even having to restart the tool. If I plug the monitor back in, as soon as Windows detects the devices, VKBDevCfg-C is again non-responsive.

I'd like to keep the monitor plugged in since the integrated USB hub is very useful, not to mention to make any config changes to my monitor.

The monitor doesn't affect the joystick function at all, just VKBDevCfg-C. VKB_JoyTester and VKB_BtnTester are also unaffected.

HID-compliant game controller
Product Name: VKBsim Gladiator NXT R
PRO version
T-Link supported
Firmware version: v2.055

I'm using the stock strings and cams, the joystick is new from this month.

VKBDevCfg-C: version 0.91.33.0
VKB_JoyTester: 2.0.0.0
VKB_BtnTester: I can't see any version

Thank you,
Djof/Etienne

It's a know issue on some computers - programs made by Aorus, Logitech, Razer, Corsair etc would be too aggressive and interfere with VKB's native software. Nothing to do for now other than turning those off when using VKBDevCfg.
