Discoloration of text engravings on MCG Ultimate

I have had my MCG ultimate for a month or two, and some of the text engravings on the grip are starting to discolour. Portions of the text are shiny, and some have gone a darker shade. A vigorous wipe with a damp cloth has yielded no results.

Fwiw, advice was to clean with alcohol. :) Haven't tried yet.
