I just recieved my NXT and I have decided to just removed the uStick Switch function and put the POV as always active. Then, I replaced the uStick Switch button with the POV "Ministick push" button.
Now the HAT switch works just fine, its the push button that is on the stick that is not acting as a push button. It is acting as if it was pushing up on the HAT switch, and not pushing in.
I have ALPS enabled, but when I try to bind it as such, it just binds it to up on the POV.
I can bind that button to all other buttons on the HAT switch, just not the push button.
However, when I click on it in the Buttons/Profile tab, it says that "#14 (Ministick push) Point of view switch POV1 Up".
Im certain that the button itself it functional, I just need to figure it out in the software.
Any ideas?

What exactly are you trying to achieve? To have the ministick acting only as 4w/8w POV hat with center push?

Yea, the 8w HAT switch works just fine, its just the center button that isnt working correctly.
When I press to bind it as the center push, it just binds it to up on the HAT.

You could set up the center push button as TempoB, which would give you a short push which could be assigned to a regular button and a long push which would swap between POV-to-axes modes. In this case, you'll have to redirect the logical button to other cell as it would interfere with existing structure.

I dont want to switch between an axis and HAT, Im just keeping it always on the POV HAT. Its just for some reason I cant bind the center button on the hat switch.

You don't have to change modes. Short press is a button.

Gotcha, this looks like its working. Is there a way to make it a longer push to change the mode?

You could extend the time needed to hold the center button pressed do change modes in Global/Common, TempoTime: if you set it up to 1000 it will take a long while to make the swap
Also, don't forget to redirect the short center push to an unused button (default is 13, which is already occupied); 30 would be safe.

Re: Mini Joystick push-button not working. (NXT)
Sorry for necro-threading but I believe I am having the same issue as @MoistestPickle described in the OP. I recently purchased a Gladiator NXT EVO and I'm trying to reconfigure it so that the 4-way HAT right under my thumb behaves as POV1 with a center push-button, and moving the mini-stick to work as POV2. Everything works except for exactly what the OP describes: when I try to configure the physical push-button of the HAT (Line 14) as POV1 push button, it remains showing as POV1-Up. And when testing the configuration, it does nothing.
Global configs showing POV count set to 2:
Physical buttons config showing the one I cannot configure correctly:
The button mapping window showing that APLS is checked, making the POV center push button show up for selection (cyan arrow), but clicking on it still makes the action be set to POV1-Up:
And finally, the POVs configuration screen, just in case:
Any clue of what may be going on? Am I holding it wrong? Thanks in advance!
