I've opened a ticket over at the european website flightsimcontrols.com.
In the meantime I've tried ooking for the connection quality monitor, which I believe is under Test/External Devices (am I correct?). Borht my Gunfighter base and grip showed green throughout, the grip momentarily settled on 4 green bars right after insertion but went back to one soon after.
I also went under Profile/Buttons/Physical Layer and enabled polling. The physical buttons behave exactly the same as the tester buttons, i.e. identical to what you could see in the video I posted.

Re: F-14 weapon selector malfunction
One more thing to try if you'd like while waiting for the EU agent: open it up and see if the sensor board haven't moved away from the magnet. This won't void the warranty.
Re: F-14 weapon selector malfunction
Hello,
Today I finally had the time to lay my hands on the controller and disassemble it. I followed the video instructions and saw no surprises until the 4:52 mark.
When I extracted the selector button board assembly from the selector lever housing as you show in the video, this is what I saw:
The magnet was not in place on the central hub but rather stuck to the bottom of the button on the sensor board. There is some black residue on one side of the magnet only, I presume it's the glue that failed.
If I re-seat the magnet in its place and re-insert the board assembly, the magnet won't stay put and will stick itself again to the button.
Should I glue it back on the central hub? Do you recommend any particular types of glue?
In any case, thank you for the instructional video and your guidance.
Giulio D.

Re: F-14 weapon selector malfunction
Hey Giulio, good find! You could use any kind of glue that is plastic friendly, you will need just a small drop in there.
Keep us updated please!

Re: F-14 weapon selector malfunction
Alright, here's what I did:
-Glued the magnet back in place with model glue. I put the side with the black residue facing down (glue side) as I felt this was the original orientation.
-re-assembled the grip. Before closing it up I inserted it into the base it to test if I got a reading out of buttons and axes, which I did.
-inserted the grip and pressed Default on the config tool
-flashed the '_BlackBox_MK2_GF_F14_v2_05_5' firmware
-calibrated axes
-removed the grip from the base and performed the selector calibration procedure as quickly as I could. Here's a video of the button tester after this
Now the selector engages successfully the four different buttons. Button 13 is SP/PH, 14 is SW, 15 is GUN and button 16 is the OFF button. Is this the correct mapping?
I'm not sure but I feel like they used to be mapped in the reverse order...could it be related to the magnet's polarity orientation? I don't think I glued it upside down.
EDIT : I checked the installation and calibration tutorial and saw that indeed the buttons are mapped correctly. I believe my problem is finally fixed!
Dear thanks everyone for your support throughout.
