Hello,
My new Gladiator NXT has been working flawlessly for a couple months until tonight when I randomly started having trouble with z rotation (twist) inputs. I've run the quick calibration and disassembled the stick to check for any obvious issues and it persists. The attached screenshot shows what it reads when slowly twisting the stick right and then left. Any help would be appreciated, I'm stumped where to go from here.

Re: NXT twist axis issue
Unchanged. However in the last couple minutes I did find that the screw holding the spring for the twist unit had slowly worked loose so that the little magnet at the top of the twist unit was making physical contact with the sensor. I snugged him back down, recalibrated, and now the input looks like this:
Re: NXT twist axis issue
Ok, this may be important for others to know as well. The distance between the little magnet at the top of the twist unit and the sensor is critical. Too small or too large a gap will cause issues. Small adjustment and input is behaving as such. Looks like another small adjustment is needed still.

Re: NXT twist axis issue
The twist axis should be re-calibrated, because the numbers 255, 255 on the 3rd axis say that it is not calibrated. You can activate the Partial Calibration checkbox in Settings to call the calibration of only a certain axis.
Re: NXT twist axis issue
Ok, I did the auto recalibration and it still showed KdHi and KdLo of 255, 255. After reading the manual, I decided to manually calibrate the axis. Had to bump the multiplier to 10, but was able to manually input KdHi and KdLo numbers, and get it set to the proper range. Now, input reads 0 at full deflection one direction and 65535 the other, as it should. Looks like between figuring out the physical hardware issue and then calibrating it properly, I'm back in business. Thank you for your help, you made me finally sit down and learn the config software and get familiar with it (which I hadn't done, because it looked too complicated and I hadn't needed to before). Cheers!

Re: NXT twist axis issue
Well, actually, automatic calibration should work. Without changing the MPL or prescribing your numbers. I advise you to reset it to default and hold it a little in the extreme positions of the axis during calibration (from 0.5 sec). This is acceptable for any axle, not just a twist.
And calibrate with the Profile-Axes tab open. This is convenient, since after calibration and restarting the controller, you can immediately see how the KdHi and KdLo numbers have changed. Which allows you to understand whether the calibration was completed or not.
