mcg pro twist flip trigger springeyness gone

Postby Fishbait » Mon May 31, 2021 11:31

i have an mcg pro twist on a gunfighter mk III base and the flip trigger has lost its resistance it flips up but when its flipped down its as if it has no spring behind it i opened it up but couldn't get at the mechanism because of the circuit board in the way and my over-abundance of caution.

heres video of the trigger in action https://youtu.be/Eux7LB8-qDo

Most likely something happened to the return spring. You need to disassemble the handle and get to it. And only then it will become clear what to do next.

Yeah but how do i get to the assembly?

It's behind a circuit board. And it doesn't seem to be easily removable

Nor can I find any videos or threads anywhere on fixing this issue or even getting to the trigger assembly

There is nothing complicated there.
Unscrew the 2 screws at the bottom of the right half of the grip.
Unscrew 6 screws on the left half (to access one screw, you need a Phillips screwdriver with a length of at least 45 mm).
Having removed the right half, we turn off the only self-tapping screw that fixes the board.

Disconnect the 2-pin cable.
Raising the board slightly above the place where the self-tapping screw was wrapped, we move it to the right. As soon as a ledge appears on top, move the board up and take it out.

We unscrew the self-tapping screw securing the plastic spring.

We unscrew the self-tapping screw fixing the trigger block and take it out.
We take a photo of the spring and show it.

Yeah I recently dealt with VKB support on a broken spring in my Ultimate brake paddle lever. They were awesome and I now have that spring replaced and a spare spring on hand as well.

I also has a wire get cut on me in my Gunfighter MK III gimbal due to bad placement on my part. I was able to successfully solder it back together to get it working properly again. I dealt with VKB sales and was able to procure another wiring harness which I now have here in case my solder job goes south.

In both instances dealing with VKB was pleasant and they took care of me both times without any issue at all.

Thank you. This is exactly what I needed. Here's hoping VKB will ship me the part quickly! Wish this had been included with the joystick in the first place!
