VKB F-14 Stick - Trim moves without touching the Coolie Hat

I have already been asking this in the "General"-section of the forum - so, sorry for repeating, but I feel it rather belongs here and I may get a better support by asking my question in here.
In DCS (in the sim's Controls-Settings) I have assigned trim to the VKB stick's coolie hat.
After flying the F-14 for a while (and everything - including trim - has been working fine) my plane was starting to pitch up. I could not counter that by pushing the stick fully forward...
I hit Rctrl+Enter displaying the positions of all my controls/axis, and everything was where it should be EXCEPT the trim, which was at a rear right position (=> pitch up and right bank) without me having touched the hat for a while. (see screenie attached - the small diamond to the lower right shows the trim's position... I was pushing the stick fully forward (big diamond at the very top of its axis) to regain control of the aircraft at that moment.)
I have had this several times now (not on every flight, but every other). The trim always moves to the right, usually to the lower right (between the coolie's 3 and 5 o'clocks)...
I can reassure you my thumb was far away from the coolie!
I CAN readjust the trim - but its strange that the trim "wandered" by itself!
I cannot tell how fast it moves (I never SAW it moving - I only noticed after it HAD moved) but from the reaction of the aircraft it appears to me that it moves faster than I can adjust it with the coolie...
What I did beforehand (and some times since) was calibrating the stick with DevCfg...
What else can you recommend me to try or check?
Can this be due to some faulty hardware, maybe
Thanks
Oliver
