POV hat as button
I have my POV set as 4W buttonwhen I test it it acts like it’s a 8 way. I move it up it lights up but when I let go it changes to a different bottom.

First of all, that POV has to be calibrated - when calibrating it make sure it's in axes mode and not POV. Then, program it as LoRes 4w and press the Set button to save it.

I’m not understanding. I’m in profile tab and axes2buttom. I see a get and set but nothing happens when I move the POV in that. When I go to test it again bottoms light up everywhere when I move the POV hat

Do this:
1. open VKBDevCfg and click on the Test tab, then on Axes1 tab;
2. click on the Tools tab, then on the big square Start Calibr tab;
3. move your joystick along pitch and roll, twist it (if you have it), move the mini-throttle up and down (if you have it), click on the center button of the POV hat (if you have a Kosmosima grip a red small LED will turn on the head) and move the ministick up/down and left/right; you should see the sliders moving on the screen while doing this - if you move some axes and there's no slider moving then there's something wrong;
4. when done click on the End Calibr button;
5. after the joystick restarts click on the Profile tab, then on the POVs tab and set your ministick as LoRes 4w;
6. click on the Action tab and then press on the Set button.
If you follow this exactly you'll get where you wanted.

This worked for a while and then all of a sudden I went to set controls in DCS and it stopped responding.

Re: POV hat as button
Must be because you're trying to bind in game axes to digital or buttons (POV) to analog.

It’s not an axes in the game. It’s a button. I push it forward and is a button command etc

Re: POV hat as button
It's a ministick and has 2 modes: axes and buttons. You have to press the center button to swap between these 2 modes. If you try to bind axes to digital controls it won't work. Make sure you're in buttons mode when binding digital.

I started another calibration and then I got the 4 buttons when I moved the stick but nothing when I press it in.

Re: POV hat as button
Restart your joystick, open VKBDevCfg and go to Test/Axes1. Move the ministick around - are the axes moving? If yes, then you're in axes mode. Click mouse on the Buttons/POV tab, then press the center button of the ministick. Move the ministick around - is the red POV hat moving too? If yes, then you're in buttons mode.
Buttons = digital, axes = analog: take this into account when binding in game.

I did a restart. Also did a re calibration and it’s responding when I move the stick around but still nothing when I push it in. Now the circular mini stick down lower responds when I push it in and the axes move with it but I could never get to use that as a button like the other one at top of stick

Re: POV hat as button
Sorry man, I can't read your mind. Please state clearly: what joystick you have and what exactly are you trying to obtain from that ministick. For example: "I have a Gladiator NXT and want to program the A1 ministick so it would start in axes mode, would get a 4w POV instead of 8w with a button on center push". This will save a lot of time to both of us.

I have the MCG Pro. I currently have Ministick 1 as a 4w but the center button isn’t recognized in the configuration program. That is the one that works sometimes and then will stop working. I will recalibrate it then it works. I can’t get ministick 2 to do the same as a 4 way with center push. The center push is recognized in the configuration program. Trying to get stick 1 center push to work and stick 2 to use the axes to creat another 4w to use buttons. Is that making any sense?
