Need help with brand new Gunfighter Pro mk.III. Buttons or z axis not working

Seems my product may have arrived DOA. only the y and x axis work. nothing for the Z axis. buttons are also unresponsive. all attempts to update firmware to v.2.025 have been met with an Error and the shortly crashing. the other stick (gunfighter mk3 spacefighter) running 2.007 is working fine.
