Gunfighter mk2 x and y axis quit working
I have a gunfighter mk2 base with a modern combat edition grip. I will be flying in dcs and randomly the x and y axis will stop working. All the other buttons of the grip continue to work. I have to unplug and plug back in the black box to fix the problem. Any suggestions on how to fix this or what might be wrong?

Re: Gunfighter mk2 x and y axis quit working
If I had to guess it's probably one of the little white connectors for the gimbal coming loose from the PCB inside the base. I think that because you say that the buttons still work but the axii don't. Yours is a MKII so it's got a little mileage on it and if you haven't had this happen it was probably due. Easy fix--I hope! Hopefully it isn't a broken wire which could cause the same thing but let's not think about that! Try this first. Take off the grip, open the base and unplug and reseat all of the white wire connectors on the circuit boards. These can have a tendency to work themselves loose from time to time. As you move the stick around the wires attached to the gimbal are moving with it. They attach with the connectors to a PCB that isn't moving. Over time something has to give. They are tiny after all.

Re: Gunfighter mk2 x and y axis quit working
Thanks to both the replys. I’m having trouble recreating the situation. It seems to only happen in very bad times where I can’t go into the vkb software to get a screen shot. I will try to get one posted soon. As far the the connectors, I will give that a try. Do you think this could still be the case if I unplug the black box and plug it back in and it fixed it? Something I have noticed is one of my three pins that go into the stick itself doesn’t come up all the way on its own when I take the stick off. Could this be the issue?

If you have a sticky pin, yes definitely that can cause it. Could be it's just making contact until you move the stick a certain way and it breaks contact. Another reason why it's hard to catch. The pins should spring up and down under light pressure. I like to use the eraser end of a pencil. Don't jam on them hard.

A stuck pin won't block or slow down your software. Kill background programs like Aorus, Logitec, Razer - anything that might interfere with native software. We need screenshots, as requested above by Ron, to understand what's going wrong in there.

Sorry for the delay. Here are the requested screen shots.

Re: Gunfighter mk2 x and y axis quit working
Your software is really old (more than 2 years) and the firmware is only a few months old. There could be some incompatibilities coming out of it. Please upgrade to the latest following the guide.
Re: Gunfighter mk2 x and y axis quit working
I have updated the firmware on my computer and the joystick. This did not fix the issue.

Click on both grip and base icons in the second screenshot. In the new windows watch for tall green blocks or red blocks - are there any? If not, move the joystick around like you'd do in game. Result?
Re: Gunfighter mk2 x and y axis quit working
Do I need to do this while the x and y axis are working or not working
Re: Gunfighter mk2 x and y axis quit working
I watched the read-out and moved the stick around. A couple of times the graph displayed a single green bar about two lines high but that was it. After 10-15 minutes the x and y axis cut out but nothing showed on the graph. To get the x and y axis to work again I have to unplug the black box or cable from the base and plug them back in. Taking off and putting the stick back on the base does not make the x and y axis work again.
