Gunfighter Mk.III Setup for MCG Ultimate

Postby Javaman » Mon Mar 15, 2021 0:19

Hi,

I just recently ordered the MCG Ultimate to replace an existing MCG Pro on a Mk.III base.

May I know what's the recommended setup for the Mk.III base? Cams, springs and things like that?
Probably the same base setup with the recent MCG U + MK.III base bundle.

Thanks in advance.

There’s no special requirement or recommendation for using the MCGU.

At the moment, i use 2 single 20s springs for my MCG Pro. Am I right with the assumption that the Ultimate might be too heavy for this setup? So that I probably have to take 2x 30s to get the same result?

Warthog is heavy, but metal does not necessarily means heavy by default if you combine good design and engineering :) You'll be surprised.

The spring tension is all about how you like it. Only "rule" is not exceeding the max of, is it a pair of 40s or is it 50s? I forget actually. That's what's so cool about this brand. You're free to tweak it however you want. I don't have an ultimate, just the original MCG-Pro. I recently added a 200mm extension and felt that with the extra leverage involved, the spring force I liked when it was just attached to the base, that was on the lighter side, was now WAY too light. No biggie. I just added more spring tension to where it felt right to me again. In short, I don't think the extra weight of the new grip is as much of a factor without any extensions. That's where it's gonna be noticeable. At least in my experience.

Got my MCGU yesterday. Adding #20 springs on each axis seems to work for me (Tabletop, no extensions).

Centering ok after adding #20 springs on each axis?
Each axis have now 2 #20 springs?
Is that correct?

If you are satisfied with this, then completely. Maximum allowable 2x50 per axle.

2x50 or 2x50A?
It seems those are not the same.

Centering is really good for me.

Assuming the information i got somewhere that base comes with #20 springs on each axis out of factory, then Yes, each axis now have 2 #20 springs. :)
