200mm Extension resistance values

Postby Russ » Wed Jan 20, 2021 22:57

Hello I recently bought a gunfighter stick with 200mm extension and KG12 Grip, it worked great for a month or so but now the buttons stop working, I thought at first the connections the between grip-extension-base but they seem good
Then a couple of times it worked again when I flashed the firmware, but I think this was a red herring, just coincidence.

Anyway, I tried again today to see if there was any problem with the contacts, and with a eyeglass they still look fine, so I thought I would check the continuity and resistance from one end of the extension to the other and found that 2 pins measured 4 Ohms but third pin measured 1.9 Ohms, are they acceptable values?.

Clean up the 3 contact pads on both one end of extension and base stem with a cloth and a bit of alcohol. If it still doesn't work when installed back try removing the extension and see if only stick on the base works.

I have found the fault and fixed it myself, the high resistance reading on one of the contacts was a big clue so I disassembled the extension and found that one of the pins in the connector plug had not been inserted correctly (see below)
