Gunfighter Mk. II 5-button Hats Stop responding

I keep having occasionally issues with the 5-way pushbutton hats on my Gunfighter Mk. II, they occasionally just cut out. It's always just *one* of the hats, not both at the same time, and the rest of the controller will normally work fine, but a couple times the secondary slew axis will be stuck as well. I would try recalibrating it to no avail, but eventually just rebooted it and it would work fine. But at one point, rebooting the stick wasn't viable in the middle of a dogfight and the buttons weren't essential for what I needed to do, so I continued flying. Roughly a minute or so later, the buttons worked just fine again, and the secobdary slew axis returned to normal (I never use the secondary slew axis).

Is anybody else having this issue? I don't have the stick with me because I just started vacation, but wanted to check if this is a familiar problem, but couldn't find any similar posts.
