MK2 MCG Pro X and Y axis cutting out

Postby caddis » Wed Oct 21, 2020 5:06

I have an MK2 base with an MCG Pro and original black box. Randomly the x and y axis will not register in DCS or in the vkb software. I will be flying and the pitch and roll will just stop working. The buttons work, but not the x and y axis. If I turn off the black box and turn it back on the x and y axis will work again. This happens 1-2 times a night when I play. Any suggestions?

If you go to Test/External devices and click on the grip icon are there any spikes in Communication Error Level?

Currently no, but the x and y axis are working. I will check this next time it goes out and let you know. There is no pattern for when it goes out so I will have to wait and check.

Would also help to open up the base, unplug the white connectors, check if the wires are secured and plug them back firmly.

The pitch and roll axis have stopped working. All other buttons and axis' are working. I watched the communication error level graph for around 5 minutes. There are random spikes for both the base and stick. The spikes are not very high. Rarely ever to the first mark on the graph. The spikes are mainly on the base graph but sometimes appear on the grip graph.

The only connector and wires that seem slightly loose is the main connector that needs to be unplugged before taking the base apart. It doesn't seem like it should be an issue though if power cycling the black box fixes my problem.

Show screenshot of Global and Profile-Axes tab from configurator.

I was having the same issue, so far this is has helped, but I've only had time to do a little bit of testing

Thanks for the link. I went through and uncheck all the power management boxed in both of those branches. Also attached is the screenshots of my global and profile pages in the vkb software.

Changing the power settings for all my devices did not fix the problem. I assume I changed the settings for my mk2 because all my devices have general names and nothing was labeled with vkb.
