FS 2020 T-Rudder Not Recognized

I launch FS 2020 and it does not recognize my T-Rudder. I have one with the orange controller. In FS 2020 config, it sees the T-Rudder, but shows a big question mark where the icon should display. Likewise, the rudders do nothing during flight.

Check
this thread please. TLDR: have your device calibrated before binding it in game and when you bind it in game make sure you're binding as analog (axis) and not digital (buttons). Don't worry about the question mark as long as the name of the device is there.

I apologize, but I’m not understanding.
I launched the config app, clicked start calibrate, moved the rudder pedals full left then right, then clicked stop calibration.
I launched FS 2020 and went into control configuration. I chose T-Rudder then chose left and right rudder. The options for input are:
|1|, |2|, X-Axis, -X-Axis, +X-Axis, Y-Axis, -Y-Axis, +Y-Axis, Z-Axis, -Z-Axis, +Z-Axis
I cannot find a combination that works. At best the airplane taxis in a circle either to the left or to the right, regardless of how I press the rudder pedal.

That's exactly what I'm saying - if you bind your rudders to Rudders Left and Rudders Right it means you bind them as digital input, and they're analog. You have to bind them to Rudder Axis.
Do this: open game, click on the Options at the top of screen, then Controls. Now click on your device name (on the devices row, under >|CONTROLS), set the FILTER to ALL in the left side of the screen, click on the Flight Control Surfaces, then Primary Control Surfaces, find the RUDDER AXIS, click on the first grey box on its right side, click mouse on the SEARCH BY INPUT box in the new window and move your pedals a bit so it would detect input. When your rudders axis has been detected and its name showed up click on VALIDATE button, then on the APPLY&SAVE, then on GO BACK.
Now you're good to go.

Actually, the problem has gotten worse.
I noticed that the lights on the orange box or red, which is not normal. I clicked around in the config program and got to the “external” tab. The icon of the orange box has a red X next to it and there is a message that says communication error.
I also found the “test” tab which shows 3 axis as progress bars, with the top axis centered. I pressed on the rudder pedals and it didn’t move.
The I launched X-Plane, which I’ve been using for a long time. I loaded a flight and got an external view. I pressed on the rudder pedals and the aileron does not move.
From the last time I flew X-Plane successfully, about two days ago, I:
- Installed FS 2020
- Installed a Microsoft Windows patch
- Installed firmware on the orange box
I re-installed the firmware on the orange box, it was successfully, but I retried my tests and still not working. I’ve unplugged the orange box and booted the computer as well.

Make sure the rudders connector is properly inserted in the black box. Press the Default button under Tools tab and re-calibrate.

It’s working. In addition, I had to:
- recalibrate again
- assign the rudders to the “Rudder” input NOT the individual Left and Right Rudder inputs; which are binary as other post noted.
Thank you
