[RESOLVED] Gunfighter MkIII + SCG Premium R + T Rudder MkIV on one BlackBox MkII

Postby GSacavin » Wed Jun 17, 2020 19:22

Hello !

Situation :
- I have a fully functionnal Gunfighter MkIII base with a SCG Kosmosima Premium Right grip.
- I've just received my T-Rudder MkIV pedals. I wanted to make it work on the same BlackBox MkII.
- On the black box :
-- Led 1 is OFF
-- Led 2 is green
-- Led 3 is off by default, green when clicking the SCG's analog mini-stick (indicating that the stick is in analog mode)

Problem :
When pluggin pedals into the BB, the first led turned green, but pedals where not responding.
I tried to unplug the BB then plug it again, now I have a blinking red led1.

I first thougt that I had to use a second black box for the T-Rudder, but, i noticed this in the Info tab of VKB Device Config :

Without Rudders :

Code: Select all

Contrôleur de jeu HID
Product Name:  VKB-Sim Space Gunfighter
PRO version
T-Link  supported
Firmware version:  v1.996

With rudders plugged :

Code: Select all

Contrôleur de jeu HID
Product Name:  VKB-Sim Space Gunfighter
PRO version
T-Link  supported
Firmware version:  v1.996
Rudder On

I tried to flash the firmware of the BB with the following firmware : _BlackBox_MK2_GF_SCG_v1_99_6.vkb
Now, the only axis working are the ministick axes. I decided to unplug the T-Rudder to come back to a stable state.
After defaulting the BB with VKB Device Config, all axes are back.

Strange behaviors :
When I plug the rudder while calibrating, the led1 goes green, the Z-Axis is centered but non responsive
When I restart the controller, the led1 goes blinking red and the Z-Axis value is 0.

Note that when I plug the BB received with the rudder, I have the same red blinking led1. I flashed firmware with _BlackBox_MK2_TRudder_v1_99_6.vkb. But nothing better.
I read in some documentation that we could perform a hardware activation by shorting a boot contact. I am looking into it.

Does anyone knows what's going on ?

Does anyone knows why I can't get those working ?

Plug both MKIII with SCG and rudders in the same Black Box, flash it with MKII+SCG firmware, hit the reset to Default butto, calibrate all the axes - pitch, roll, twist, ministick, rudders. Hit End Calibr and try again, it should work now.

Hi,

Thanks for the quick answer.
I tried but I can't get my pedals to work.

Maybe there's a problem with the pedals...

I will try to get them working alone on a dedicated BB, with no other peripherial plugged-in and tell you what's goin' on.

Are you following exactly the recommended procedure? Flash, reset to default, calibrate?

Yes I am.

I did it multiple times, the stick works fine, but still no input from rudders.

Hello !

I have solve my problem.
I finally decided to open the electronics of my pedals to find the 3-pin connector..disconnected from the PCB.

After reconnecting it, the Rudder works fine.

Thanks Fallout9 for your help.
