Hi Mike! About calibrating the device: you could do it through the native software, but that's a bit of time consuming. If you're in a rush to get in the game do this:
- unplug the joystick from computer;
- plug back the joystick to the computer and in the next 10 seconds press on the 2 Flaps buttons on the left side and on the Eject button on the right side of the base;
- hold all 3 buttons pressed until the green LED on the base is starting to flash; then you could release the buttons;
- now push your grip up and down along pitch axis and left right along roll axis - you don't have to push it hard at the end, just as much as you'll be using it in the game. Twist the grip left and right and push the mini-throttle all the way up and down. Do all these a few times.
- when done squeeze the trigger button and the joystick will restart;
- check the LEDs lights - if light is constant on everything was fine with the calibration process; if the LEDs are flashing something was wrong and you'd need to run the calibration process again.
After this you could get in game, but you'll have to assign the axes and buttons to the controls you'd need.
If you ever decide to flash your device (not recommended now as your device is new), here's the procedure:
1. Go to
https://vkbcontrollers.com/, click on Donwload section.
2. Download the VKB Device Firmware (v1.98.F), the VKBDevCfg (v0.91.22) and the Bootloader (ZBootloader (v1.18).
3. Put all these 3 files in a separate folder and unzip them.
4. Open VKBDevCfg and navigate to Tools tab, then press on the big square Bootloader button.
5. In the new window press the ... button and navigate to the folder V1.98F and choose the file named _Gladiator_v1_98_F.vkb.
6. Select that file and click OK button. The Bootloader will flash that file and will close.
7. Open again VKBDevCfg and go to Tools tab and press the big square Default button.
8. After joystick restarts go to the Test tab, then Axes section.
9. Press the Start Calibr button and move all the axes on your joystick: pitch, yaw, twist, throttle.
10. When done press End Calibr and from there you're good to go: your joystick is flashed and calibrated properly.
Here's a video that covers this operation, might help you:

That's about keeping your joystick updated and calibrated. Do not try to calibrate it through any calibration tools (like Windows') other than its native software detailed above.
Also don't forget to bind your controls in game.
Have fun!
