Grips dead - black box red light flashing

Hi all,

Last month I ordered a 10cm stick extension, to replace my current 20cm bended extension, for my GF base (I had ordered the rev.A I thought - with the female base not the pins) and today I finally received it from Aliexpress. Keep in mind I live in New Zealand so getting anything here is a journey.

Anyway, I did not even think to check the base as I was so excited, went to mount it on the base, tightened everything up and noticed the red light on the black box flashing.

I went to remove the grip and the extension and noticed that the extension had the pins. Now, the retractable pin on the base is bended a bit although it seems to retract fine, but I am worried I have actually broken it, or perhaps, the connections inside are done for.
I have tried reflashing the firmware multiple times, I have tried both the Warhog grip I was using and the KG12 grip I receive with the base and no grips gets recognized.
I have just spent 4 hours troubleshooting everything, removing every piece of unnecessary software. No buttons work and the two grips are not recongized.

I am lost. Also because I don't have a different joystick to use.

Hello KiwiOne!
Looks like you're flashing a wrong, or at least an old firmware. Please see the guide to flash your device properly and follow the steps exactly: https://youtu.be/fU4CbKhGm_w
After resetting to Default check the Global/ External/ External device panel: if the grip is recognized as KG12 then continue with calibration as described in video; if the grip is recognized as Gladiator then pull down that menu (see picture), set the grip as KG12, click the Set button in the Action tab and continue with the calibration.

Apologies, I should have clarified. I have flashed the latest firmware, then the first one I have received when I bought the gunfighter and then that one to just try it out.
There is no difference in any of them.
I have also tried and followed already the steps you have wrote down with no success unfortunately

I'd like to know what are the chances that the pin of the base is now broken? I am guessing the internal wire snapped off the pin? Would that be possible?

It only remains to check the voltage at the board contacts with the grip removed. They should be something like this: S-2.6v
Rev.B..png
Rev.B..png (93.21 KiB) Viewed 3947 times

And only then look in sequence by installing an extension cord and checking the same voltages on it.
Show a photo of the extension cord and base stock so that the contact groups are visible.

I think my base is revision A as I have pins, not flat base.

It doesn't matter, voltage is the same. If you have a multimeter just position the base like pictured (with metal pin towards you) and measure to see if you get the same results.
