F14 and GF MKII Registration Issues
Hi,
I just got my F14 RevB Grip and haven't been able to successfully get the Gunfighter MKII base to connect. I've tested my MCG Pro and SCG as well as 200mm extensions without any issues with the base, so I believe that the issue is with the grip.
Install steps:
1. downloaded Device Config 0.91.22 and 1.98F firmware pack
2. unplugged usb from orange metal blackbox
3. disconnected MCG Pro revB grip
4. seated F14 revB grip
5. double-checked fully seated, and then tightened new flat back grips
6. plugged usb back into black box
7. launched Device Config
8. flashed with f14 1.98 firmware
9. Device Config relaunched after successful flash
10. ran calibration on x, y, twist and DLC
11. twist and DLC didn't register
12. buttons 5 (grey), 6 (brake lever) and 7 (black pinky) are the only buttons that are responsive
I then went through the usual trouble shooting steps. Install other grips and verify, connect the f14 to extension, make sure USB is direct connect and not through hub, changed base to black box cord. I did get the F14 to register completely once through the calibration, but the moment it restarted after the calibration it reverted back to only seeing the x, y and 3 buttons noted above. I've tried rolling back device config to previous version and also trying the beta version on Alex's site, but nothing has worked. Screenshots below. I don't get red leds on the black box. If I log the joystick, reboot it thinks that buttons #3 #4 #9 #11 #15 are all being pressed simultaneously.
I hope someone can offer something, because I'm out of ideas. Thanks in advance.

Re: F14 and GF MKII Registration Issues
I have found that if the weapon select is in the SP/PH position, and then the grip is flashed, it will register correctly. Any restart of the grip will result in loss of function, unless the Weapon Selector is put back into the SP/PH and flashed again. However, if the flash happens with WS in the up position, and then moved to the OFF position, it will result in functioning correctly until the grip is restarted. System reboot also results in loss of functionality until stick is flashed again in the above manner.
Re: F14 and GF MKII Registration Issues
You need to do a hardware calibration of the grip. It's simple.
Please open a ticket on the website of the dealer.

Re: F14 and GF MKII Registration Issues
1. Go to Test - Buttons / POVs page to check if any button except 13, 14, 15, 16 lit up. If yes, reinstall the grip.
2. Hit Default button in Tools page.
3. After restart, calibrate the joystick again except Weapon Selector.

Sorry to raise the thread, I have pretty much this exact same problem and I have raised a ticket but can the solution be posted here?

Re: F14 and GF MKII Registration Issues
Are there any buttons on the grip working? How about twist axis?

Re: F14 and GF MKII Registration Issues
Buttons 5/6/7 work. No twist axis detected at all.
Button test page shows 3/4/9/11/16 as being on constantly
Connected a TM stick with adapter to the same base and all buttons register fine

Are you flashing the Black Box when swapping grips though?
Could you post a screenshot of VKBDevCfg?

Re: F14 and GF MKII Registration Issues
I did reflash when changing to the TM, and then flashed back for the F14.
I tried reseating the stick again and retightening things, the whole stick was then recognised in the config software (including twist axis) - then when I clicked End Calibration, it didn't save and now I'm back to the same situation where only 3 buttons work so at least I know the stick isn't completely dead, it's just trying to work out why it isn't saving. I've tried flashing with the weapon selector OFF and also with it set to SP/PH as previously suggested in this thread, without any real effects.
