Troubles with new Gladiator MkII

Postby Scarecrow » Mon Apr 27, 2020 14:08

Morning,

Purchased a Gladiator MKII from VKB a few weeks ago. It arrived in about a week, and for the past week I've been struggling to get any use out of it.

The main physical issue I have right out of the box is that the Y-Axis doesn't even attempt to center. Any solutions?

Software wise - I have updated the firmware and calibrated the joystick, but my plane/ship still tries to constantly roll to the left after about 30 seconds of using the joystick in game(like clockwork it isn't immediate, but about 30 seconds). Even unplugging the joystick the ship/plane will still act like it is receiving the command. I have to exit the game and restart without the joystick connected to address the issue. I have launched games with the test window open to view the data, but everything looks normal.

Have a I received a defective unit, or are there solutions I am overlooking?

Thanks.

Yes, it seems as soon as I roll either direction, the commands get "stuck". Seems like an issue on the PCB in the controller.

I opened a support ticket.

They advised me to open the base plate and send a pic.

First thing I noticed is that the Y-Axis spring is missing and there were several loose connections.

Seems like a QC issue.

Hopefully this will be resolved quickly.
