I have used this for a couple of months and recently the buttons stop working intermittently. I confirmed I get red lights on the black box and eventually they turn back to green.
I re-seated the extension and grip, and it didn't work. I then tried to update the flash in the box and it still doesn't work.
Reading the forums it seems like the connection is not good. Does anyone have any advice on what else I can do?

You need to go to the Profile-Buttons tab, activate the Poll check box and click all the buttons in order to get the red square lit up in response.
If this is not the case, check the connection of the grip with the base on a scale in the Test-External Devices tab.
One green bar should be lit during normal communication.

So the problem has only gotten worse and after my recent attempts using the newest version of flash, I now get this:
You can see that though I have a MKIII L it reads as a GF Base and Gladiator stick.
I changed it to KG manually but no matter what I do, I cannot get a single green light nor do any of the buttons work.
I have reseated the stick many times and it simply doesnt seem to see anything.

Have you pressed the Set button after that? If not, hit the Default button under Tools tab, set up the grip as KG12 in Global/External/External devices, hit the Set button under Action tab.
Re: Gunfighter Pro-L MkIII Buttons stop working
Yeah I did that... nothing. I had bought a MCG Pro (never used it) and I put that on and flashed it and it works perfectly. So at least I can still fly, but I am annoyed that my KG12 grip doesnt appear to be working. Its literally only a month or two old... annoying.
I inspected the three pins and they appear fine. I really hope this is a software issue.
