Kos hat cover missing?

Just got the grip today. Looking at it, I'm wondering if the 4way hat shown here is missing a cover. I've never seen another grip with the internals exposed like this.

Nope, nothing's missing, that's the design of the grip.

Thank for the the quick reply. Glad I'm not going to mess anything up. The internals look pretty. Cant wait to get this bad boy set up for some LANTIRN action. The grip feels perfect.

Only the RIO pit. Going for full F14 sim pit, so I wanted a left hand stick for LANTIRN and right hand stick for HCU.
For now, the HCU is taken care of by my old Wathog, but I'm hoping to add another Kos + base eventually. Or, I might go with the KG12 grip. Not sure yet.
My pilot pit has the gunfighter and F14 grip. Really hoping to add TECS throttle when it comes out. My warthog throttle is starting to lose the mic hat, long since lost a few button functions. May be on its last legs.
