1 - Gladiator Mk. II non pro
2 - 1.85B
3 - Vanilla Springs
4 - Vanilla Cams
5 - device config v0.87.05
Problem: Hat switch stopped working. Initially it it came back after some time and stopped responding again soon after. Now it is dead.
I tried:
- reset and recalibration in device config software
- taking everything apart and looked for bad wires. (Im no expert but wires look fine to me)

Please show screenshots of Button tabs - Logical and Physical.
Try to check Poll on Physical tab and push buttons and hat. Will you see responses?

I advise you to update the firmware - in the header of the configurator itself, the minimum firmware guaranteed to work with this version of the configurator is explicitly mentioned. Take it
here.

What happens when the Poll checkbox is activated and you move the HAT in the Buttons tab, as Victorus advised?

Disassemble the KG12 and check the integrity and reliability of the HAT loop cable. Moreover, on both sides. I doubt very much that the 4 buttons are out of order at the same time.
When disassembling, take a photo - it helps a lot when reassembling.

I disassembled it. To me it looks fine.
I tested again in physical buttons tab and still get no response from the hat switch. (all other buttons work)

It remains to find out where the reason is on the HAT button board or on the controller board in the grip.
If there is a tester, then it will not be difficult to check the buttons on the HAT board.
And on the controller board in the grip, you can close the contact with tweezers to which the black wire comes with any other in the connector.
The response must be observed in the configurator in the Buttons tab and the activated Poll check-box.
Before that, it is worth resetting the default settings with the button in the configurator.

So I plug in the joystick and use tweezers (not a special tool .. just normal tweezers) to close the connection between the pins on the connector on the pcb? At some point I should observe a response in the configurator? Did I understand correctly?

Yes that's right. You can use 2 methods - both in the pictures. And the result of the closure of 2x extreme contacts.

Thank you for posting these instructions. I did some testing on the pcb connector and wasnt able to get a response in the configurator. I guess this indicates there is something wrong with the connector on the pcb and the hat switch buttons may be fine.
If so is there some magic trick I can try to fix the connector?
