SCG(L) not detected. [Solved]

Postby nyvn » Sat Sep 28, 2019 21:40

1 - Gladiator Mk I with Upgrade kit and SCG L
2 - Default springs setup
3 - Default
4 - N/A
5 - VKBDevCfg_v0.90.74
6 - N/A
7 -

When I install the SGC (L) the top LED lights then immediately turns off. The red LED on the base remains flashing. I have removed the grip and cleaned the contacts with an alcohol wipe and I have disconnected/re-connected the grip's cable.

Have you flashed the _Gladiator_SCG_L_v1_97_7.vkb file into your device followed by a Reset to default and Calibration? (check again the name of the file you're flashing to make sure you're on the right one)
How many devices you have?

I've flashed, reset, and calibrated the device. I followed the tutorial video. I also have a Gladiator Pro Mk II with SCG Premium-R, and I have ensured that I have the correct stick selected in VKB Dev Config.

I've also ensured that the stick is fully seated (I had that issue with my other stick).

Disconnect the Gladiator Pro and leave only the MKI connected and flash, reset and calibrate again. If it still not working DISCONNECT the MKI, swap the other grip on it, re-connect it, flash, reset and calibrate. I insist on disconnecting the device from the USB port before taking the grip off.

Completed, with no change.

Unable to complete, as the connectors on the bases/grips do not match.

It looks like you're on beta version config with stable firmware. Go either beta or stable with both, they have to match.

Switched back to what's available here https://vkbcontrollers.com/?page_id=4609 Disconnected/reconnected the Gladiator Mk I flashed, reset and calibrated again with no change.

Also tried using both Beta Config and Firmware flashed, reset and calibrated again with no change.

Other things that I'd try - making sure I'm flashing the right file (_Gladiator_SCG_L_v1_97_7.vkb), checking if user=developer is present in zconfig.ini, use a multimeter to see if the 3 grip wires are not interrupting.
Also verify if the grip is seated properly on the base with the pin going all the way inside the small hole at the base of the grip.

LE: I run some tests on mine (I have exactly the same combination) and the only way I could replicate your issue is when the grip is disconnected from the base. So again, check if the grip is going all the way down the adapter shaft and if it does and still not working then check the wires.

I have removed all unnecessary files to ensure I don't flash the wrong one.

I have user=developer set in zconfig

I think it's fully seated.

I'll have to borrow a multi-meter to check.

It is necessary in the configurator to change the SCG handle (erroneous) to SCG_L and everything will work. Read this post. Everything is clear there without translation.

Thank you both, my issue is resolved.

On additional step was necessary, I used "Set" under the action tab.
