BlackBox and firmware

Postby bigbearsub » Fri Aug 09, 2019 8:49

Hi there,
I bought a rudder pedals MKIV and I connected it to my computer. Everythings works fine, but I need to upgrade the firmware in order to use the toe break function. I did something wrong, certainly I used one wrong file to update the BlackBox. The end of my essay is that the VKBDevCfg-C_v0.90.19 see as hardware the joystick Gunfighter L instead of pedals, the ZBootloader-C Njoy32 v1.13 say device disconnected and clicking on reset appear
Error writer data 42483824
on the BB is light the blue led while the red ones of the joystick is bliking,
Using T-link v071 it say pedals Disconnected.
What could I do to recover my mistake?
Thanks

Show the folder where the configurator starts from. And screenshots of the Global tab from the configurator.

seems that the hardware is waiting for the joystick instead of the pedals
waiting for your evaluation.

1. Firstly, you need to follow a simple rule for matching versions of the configurator and firmware.
This can be found in the very top line of the configurator, the so-called "header".
In your example, it is recommended that you use firmware no lower than 1.96C for configurator version 90.19, higher is possible.
And in more current versions of the configurator, new functions are added.

2. Secondly, it is worth arranging the location of the files. Watch this old video, of course, file versions will be more relevant today.

3. Thirdly, the orange box (BlackBox = BB) is used not only with T-Rudder, but also with other VKB devices.
And when uploading the firmware, you need to understand what we want to get at the output of BB.
Therefore, be careful when choosing the firmware file. Nothing bad happened to you - flash the _BlackBox_TRudder file from the v.1.97.7 archive and get the pedals.

p.s. take screenshots with the Alt + PRTSCN key combination and subsequent processing in Paint, with the Scissors tool or the Sketch on a Screen Screenshot (Win10).

Possible firmware problem.

I am having trouble mapping buttons on my new Gunfighter WWII Pro joystick.
I ran the Device Report which states my buttons are test buttons and not used for mapping. Key mapping has been turned off.
How do I turn key mapping on?

A small error crept into the firmware, to fix it, you need a few clicks of the mouse.
Watch a video on what you need to do to make the buttons work.
We apologize for the temporary inconvenience. This will be fixed soon.

Now my joystick is producing 100% communications error.
Screenshot of my config tool below. My config named the joystick correctly.
According to the video I scrolled the tab down to Gladiator stick and then clicked Set. But I did not get the Partial Write Settings window to make the changes shown. The config tool blinked and now the joystick image shows full red bars and 100% communication error.
Now none of my buttons work and Device Report still says my key mapping is turned off.
The file you gave will not load. Bootloader doesn't see it and says my device is disconnected.
I had to move heaven and earth to get this WWII Pro stick to go in my new monstertech mtx $1,000 pit. Monstertech left out the throttle plates so I have to wait another week for it and now this

So there is no contact between the handle and the base.
Try turning the knob a little while installing and loosened the screw.
The appearance of a contact can be immediately noticed when the Test-External Devices tab is open.

It's not a hardware problem.
I had button response before your suggestions and download.
I was just unable to program the buttons to get the shift to work.
Now nothing works and you want me to start taking it apart?
Button Wizard is grayed out. Is that a hardware problem?
