Try to apply a thread lock red. I won’t tell Mark, there are a lot of them. Just focus on color.
It is necessary to unscrew the disk completely and apply a retainer to the threaded part (only the disk is important).
Clamp as hard as possible. In two holes (marked in green), you can insert tweezers or other suitable diameter tool (d = 3mm) and lay a screwdriver between them to use it as a lever.
Then fix this axis with the stopper (fig. 3).

Ok. That seems to have worked. I was tempted to put some 'lock red' on the stopper screw because every time I check it it is always just 'hand tight' no matter how much force I add while screwing it in :-)

I used a junky pair of needle nosed pliers I had lying around (they were not of good enough quality for project work but they fit this task nicely):

Then added the 'lock red' and reassembled.

After I reassembled the base, I connected it to the computer, set it to it's default and calibrated it with the VKB Config software. No issues here and calibration went better than I remember it the last few times. Played around with it in the VKB Tester and was unable to replicate the issue. Nice! I started up X-Plane and went to the flight I had that gave me visibility into the issue and after flying for a couple of hours, I did not experience the issue again.

VTW: Had an HTTP error when attempting to attach the pictures so I added links.

Thanks Ron61 and the VKB team. I may be back if it shows up again :-)
