Kosmosima twist can't find center

Postby rp20010 » Sat Jun 22, 2019 21:23

1. Gunfighter Mk2 w/Kosmosima premium left
2. Firmware version: v1.96F
3. 1 x 30 spring for X and Y
4. 10 cam for X and Y
5. VKBdevcfg-C v0.90.25

The twist has only started to do this the last few days. I've tried default and calibrate. Applying deadzone helps but I don't want this as a solution because it never used to do this. The device is only 2 weeks old!!

You're getting closer! In your screenshot of VKBDevconfig look at the window title. It's in blue type. It displays not only the version of VKBDevconfig but also the firmware version number it's known to be compatible with. Your firmware is still above 1.96C. Good practice is if updating things to do the configuration first and check that firmware number before doing anything else.

Not saying this is the solution to your particular problem but having mismatched software can make odd stuff happen at best.

I have two kosmosima, the right is perfectly fine and the left started showing the same issue with the same behaviours as your but only for the left twist action like full/medium left twist doesn't center and small left twist always center.

Sadly i can't reproduce the issue anymore because now center flawlessly so i think i fxed that just doing some full twist right to left and left to right without stopping in the center at moderate speed, so i presume the issue for my side was the grease maybe not well spreaded.

Well might be.
As many things with action based on friction it needs some time to break in. Also, check the lock screw position; make sure it is not "in".

yes the locking screw was the first thing i checked, like you said i confirm for my side was just the need for more break in.
