VKBdevCFG cfg file description

Postby kthulu » Sun Jun 09, 2019 2:10

Dear VKB software developers,

I have tried to find any information on the specifications of the cfg files generated by the VKBdevCFG utility. I figure it must be some sort of binary format, however without some developer knowledge it is gonna be an unnecessary effort to decode those files into human readable format.

The reason for asking is that I am not so much of a fan of configuring a joystick through a GUI, but would rather like to understand the cfg files and have a scripting approach for programming the incredible Gunfighter/MCG Pro combo, much like Thrustmaster did perfectly in the past with Foxy for the cougar and TARGET for the current Warthog.

Is there any chance of getting a glimpse on your file specifications?

In any case thanks a lot for your hard work and making the beautiful hardware also usable.

It is a file similar to memory dump, which would be really hard, if at all possible, to edit.
:)

Thanks AeroGator for your super quick reply.

Do you think there is the slightest chance for VKB delivering a scripting approach for programming the sticks?

Best,
