Retrofitting Thumb hat to Kosmosima Standard

Postby epower » Thu May 16, 2019 15:34

Liking my Kosmosima stick handle so far and the fact that I swap it onto my Gunfighter I base. I've just gotten into Elite Dangerous so the SCG is far superior to my KG.

I had no interest in the multiple trigger deal with the Premium so I went with Standard but I'm finding after a couple weeks use that I really want the 4-way thumb hat instead of the push button.
Is there a way I can order the thumb hat switch ?

Thanks very much,

epower

Strictly speaking, we don't provide for this sort of modifications. We design different versions of our devices so people can choose what they want.
So the first part of the reply is unfortunately - you can't buy a hat switch separately.
To sweeten the pill however there is some good news.
If you manage to procure the hat somehow (say from a broken or 2nd hand device) it is going to be quite easy to replace it. The device will auto detect the new control, and all you will have to do is re-calibrate the joystick.
Try contacting your local dealer. The chance is pretty thin but maybe he has a spare hat in his emergency repair kit. It is the only possibility, sorry for such a disappointing reply.

Thanks for the prompt reply, Aerogator. I will contact my local supplier, which I think is VKB NA... We'll see if we can work som, ething out. Worst case, I buy a Premium.

Sokol1, nice site! I appreciate the recommendation. See you in the Virtual skies

It's a first world problem, I agree. The only wrinkle is the fact that ALL the Premium Kosmosima handles are currently sold out
I'm off to pitch a fit, then email sales and beg for a spare thumb hat switch assembly.

No no I wasn't that serious! Who knows me know that no one can be farther away from sjw'ship than me. I just wanted to say that for us as a company someone going to buy a premium device is not the worst threat we've dealt with

All in good fun. No SJWism implied or stated. Now about that next batch of Kosmosimas.... 8)
