Kosmosima L/GF II Grip LEDs Turning Off

Postby Dirt » Thu Apr 18, 2019 3:19

The grip LEDs on my Kosmosima (LED 10 & 11) keep turning off randomly during use. The sticks function is not affected in any way.

Upon further research I found the base was entering a mode called "External". I have no idea what "External" means and the NJoy32 .pdf never mentions it in this context.

I am however running 2 black boxes with an MCG Pro as the right stick and the Kosmosima as the left.

So, what is "External"? Is it an error? What's going on here?

I'm running the exactly same setup and using the beta drivers from here: http://alex-oz.strana.de/index.htm with no issues.

Btw, how do you know you're in External mode? And what firmware have you flashed on your SCG?

I am running v1.96B FW on the SCG.

I can tell I'm in "External" by going too "Global>External>LEDs" and changing the color of the "External" event.

I think you'd be in External if you'd exchange inputs between devices through ZLink or using virtual devices. Check the beta drivers, there was someone else yesterday with a similar issue and it got it fixed by installing different cfg software and scg firmware.

If you're talking about the LED's on the grip itself. Try looking at the wires in the base and reseating all the connectors. I had re-flashed my blackbox and I thought it fixed my similar issue, but I could not reproduce with the other black box I had ( that wasn't reflashed) that I could reproduce with previously as well. The only other thing I did was reseat all the connectors in the base itself.

This isn't a mechanical problem. If it would be an issue with the wires the grip wouldn't work at all and there's no LED dedicated wire in the base. If it was a wiring issue how big the coincidence would be to happen on both your bases . Even if you reflashed only 1 of your Black Boxes, you've still updated the Cfg software, so more likely there was the problem (I've noticed from your previous post that you've been using an outdated Cfg).
