disassemble Gunfighter Mk2 stick extension

Postby FrankP » Fri Feb 22, 2019 21:26

Hi,

I am trying to build a shorter stick extension for my DA40 Simpit to get the right amount of stick travel.

My plan is to simply replace the tube, so I was trying to remove the upper and lower attachment insert from the tube that came with the stick. The lower attachment insert was easy to remove, the upper one however doesn't move a bit. It seems to be pressed in place.

Has anyone experienced the same or been able to remove the upper insert? Any tipps or suggestions on how to remove it, are highly welcome.

Thanks,
Frank

Hi!
I just used more force and pliers and silicone padding not to marr the surfaces. It comes off just like the other end, just harder.

Hello Battis,

Many thanks! Just wanted to be sure not to break something.

I just ordered the tubes. Still impressed that vkb made the extension out of 25x3mm tubes! Sized to survive a thermonuclear war... ;-)

Cheers,
Frank

I tried really hard without any success.
Anyone an idea how to buy just the upper insert?

Thanks,
Frank

I managed to get it separated using a vice. - It turned out that the parts were glued in place...
