Breaking springs with extension

Hello,
I use the GF with extension and MCG PRO. I'm a moderate to light user of flight sims and generally pretty smooth with the stick. I routinely have issues with springs snapping in the pitch axis, and eventually I'm going to run out of them. (I'm already tired of replacing them.) I use a 30+30 on the pitch axis, which of course is still fairly light to use and I would expect within the tolerances of the design.
Does anyone else have this problem? Are there any steps to prevent it?
