off centre problem - T rudder Mk4

Postby blackram » Sat Jan 12, 2019 19:47

Hi, after I stifffened the spring (was watching your instructional video how to do that) and updated to latest firmware 1.95E I have a problem with offcentre. Look at the pic. What to do?

Ok now I flashed 1.95A firmware and the situation is better but its still ofcentre. When I apply right rudder it gets back but not entirely, still ofcentre as from the start on neutral. After red rudder it goes dead center as it should.

Ok I did the same trick as with Gladiator and adjusted some values under X rot in profile of blackbox/trudder in VKbconfig and now all is ok...as it seams....

Not really, you just applied a deadzone, which hide the problem. I would keep looking/asking for a solution. A deadzone on such a nice and accurate device isn't acceptable in my opinion.
You said, after stiffening the spring, what if you loose it again? I have a feeling the problem might be due to asymmetric cam combined with hard spring.

Well I tested in VKB joy tester and it detects the smallest movements. I think it isn a deadzone setting in vkb cfg. CAM is the same as it was before stiffening the spring.

With the tick box "Cn" ticked on the left, that mean that the Rot X axis have center, and so that the "Dz lo" will apply around the center of the axis, while the "Dz Hi" will apply on both extreme. I guess you "fixed" the issue by increasing "Dz lo" up to 5. Well, if you don't feel the 5% deadzone, that is cool, I guess..

Now the value is 3. both the stick and pedals are so precise it doesnt matter. I tested the pedals again in vkb joy tester and it detects the smallest movements.

Have you calibrated the rudders? Please post a screenshot of Profile/Axes/Physical Axes.

Not too sure what's happening there; so you connected the rudders through the Gladiator right? When you activate the rudders which axis is moving in Tester?

It is ROT Y axis when I press the left pedal it centers in 32767 the right one is not centered 34100 and the value changes each time I press the pedal .... I even tried calibrating by connecting black box it is the same result ...

First put in DzLo = 3 on the 7th axis, Set and calibrate this axis. If it’s not enough, add more.
